What happens when I arrive at the Refuge?
If you move into the Refuge, the Welfare worker will show you your accommodation and subsequently will a support package will be arranged for you. This will include advice on welfare benefits, housing related issues, legal rights and advice on budgeting and money.
This help can continue once you have moved out of the Refuge.
What facilities are available for children?
Your children’s needs concern the Refuge staff as much as your own and they will also have access to their own support worker. The Children’s Department offers varying levels of support for all children up to school leaving age, however the refuge can only accommodate boys up to age 16.
Children often need help because they have witnessed abuse and violence. Coping with your family can be exhausting. Our qualified childworkers can help you with this.
